Bird Buddy vs Birdfy (2026)

Both brands work without a subscription. The real difference is how bird ID works for free: Bird Buddy's free plan identifies birds when you tap a postcard, while Birdfy's free plan identifies up to 10 automatically a day. Unlimited automatic ID costs $69.99/yr on Bird Buddy; on Birdfy it's either a membership or an "AI Lifetime Free" version of select feeders.

Prices and plan terms checked 2026-10-19 on the brands' own pages: Bird Buddy memberships, Birdfy membership.
